About My Blog

My Name is Al,

I live in Kingston, WA in the United States of America

I’m a man in search of God, giving thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ for his love and mercy, but most importantly for his gift of salvation. The blog’s named this way because I’m Catholic, and I live in the Pacific Northwest surrounded by the gorgeous “Cascadia” Mountain range or “Cascades“.

I love this area and love the mountains. They’re testimony of the power and majesty of the Great Creator.

Many times in the NT, Jesus withdrew to the mountains to pray. When you’re in the mountains you feel a nearness, you can’t help but feel so close to the Heavenly Father. So in honor of him, I dedicate this blog to God, sharing his beautiful works with you all , as I discern his will for my life. I am honored and indeed blessed to be called by him to serve him, and the class as we are formed, and configured to Jesus Christ, His Son, our Lord.

It’s dedicated as well, to my fellow deacon aspirants, other candidates, serving deacons and priests in the Archdioceses of Seattle and beyond. It’ll be fun, covering topics relating to the Deacons role at Mass, in the Community, how he’s Formed, Scripture, Prayer, Ministry and Liturgy.

I must say, the content of this blog of my own making, my own understanding, in gathering, composing, synthesizing and posting information from various sources, as I seek to grow in faith, hope, love and charity through my prayer and study. They in no way represent thoughts of the Archdioceses of Seattle, it’s communities and parishes or anyone representing them. I am responsible for them, and reserve the right to modify my position at anytime as I progress in my studies. Thoughts and ideas generated here, are mine and mine alone. If you are having problems, or are in crisis, please seek the guidance of a qualified spiritual director/helper or ordained minister.

In addition, I will be sharing some on topics about my hobbies, and my love for visiting nature in the great outdoor spaces and places.

My goal is to post daily experiences, at least weekly and for sure monthly.

Welcome! and Enjoy!
