4th Sunday Of Lent

We spent the 4th Sunday of Lent with the Benedictine Monks of the Mount Angel Abbey in Oregon. It was a wonderful experience because the chants are timeless and really gave me an experience of the presence of God. The Liturgy is somewhat different from what I am used to. Particularly because they are all about the Liturgy, with proper love and adoration of the Lord. I really learned how important prayer is in our life. The centrality of it. The way we pray affects the way we worship, and that my friends is self-evident. The routine is exhausting at times, but I felt myself propelled toward prayer in unprecented speed.

I sincerely hope you integrate prayer into your life. Community prayer is very important, because God is about community and love of neighbor.

3rd Week of Lent

Already the 3rd week. This month, for our formation weekend, it’s really a retreat. We’re all heading down to the Mount Angel Abbey for our annual Lenten Retreat. I am very excited and anxious to pray the early morning prayers with the Monks. It will be a weekend of discernment, pondering God’s call and whether I continue to answer that call.

Please pray for our Deacon Class. We need your prayers, love and encouragement.

Thank you!

Lent

For me, I am learning much about patience and long suffering. Many challenges thus far, but learning to wait on the Lord, and following him and trusting him.

I feel good at this point, and am continuing with my preparation for Easter.

Pax.
