General Prayer:
“That the testimony of love offered by the saints may fortify Christians in their devotion to God and their neighbor, imitating Christ who came to serve and not to be served”.
Missionary Prayer:
“That the Christian communities of Asia, contemplating the face of Christ, may know how to find the most suitable ways to announce Him, in full faithfulness to the Gospel, to the people of that vast continent so rich in culture and ancient forms of spirituality”.
Please remember to keep the intentions of the Holy Father in your prayers..
Thank you!

When I look back over my life, I think of a person that has had such an impact on me, I know I wouldn’t be the man I am today without her. 48 years ago today, my Mom, said yes to life and commiting to love every day of her life henceforth.
Yes, today is my birthday, but I am not celebrating myself, but celebrating a person who cooperated with the life giving process. How can thank or even begin to thank her for everything she’s done for me? She’s a visible sign of God’s love and his teacher of love.
Mom, I love you with all my heart and only now can say, how tough being a parent really is and must have been for you. The worry you must have experienced, the waiting and what I know must have been numerous prayers said on my behalf, and all your children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Not to forget Dad, the source and pillar of strength for his son and whole family. You never know how much it means to have you cradle my face in your hands and kiss my cheek. I truly feel the love and acceptance and the joy of being a father through you. I love you Dad. Thank you for shaping my life, for teaching me to be the man I am meant to be. It’s a honor being your son and I enjoy every minute we experience together.
Celebrating my birthday is not so much for me anymore, but for those who’ve loved me through all the moments of my life, but especially my parents. In this day and age, I do not take for granted every child born is wanted. Celebrating Mom and Dad and their “fiat” to life in a world in that day who grew more and more liberal each passing day. They struggled, and pushed on, seeing to it we had that of what we needed, and in special moments, things we wanted. They are my heroes, my examples of God’s manifesting love for us.

A Bikers’ Prayer
Dear Lord, as I get ready to get on this machine and prepare to ride,
Just let me feel your presence with me riding side by side.
Let us feel the wind together blowing across our face,
Don’t let me fail to see and smell the nature around me as I ride from
place to place.
Dear Lord, keep me safe from harm and let the other drivers see me as I ride by,
And every once in awhile even though I’m a biker let them say, “Hi”.
Keep me alert and always watching for others,
Don’t let me ever fail to stop and help out one of my sisters or brothers.
And when my time on earth is up and it’s time for me to take that ride in the sky,
Just give me a chance to tell everyone I love them and don’t forget me when I die.
Lord, Thank You for letting me be a biker and doing what I loved the best,
For the many miles I traveled, places I got to go and see before I finally came to rest.

I’ve often thought what it would be like to enthrone the sacred heart of Jesus in our home. While we were in Costa Rica this summer, we looked for a nice statue, but the correctly sized, ones that had great detail, were also really heavy and expensive to ship. While in Cartago, visiting the Basilica at Our Lady of Queen of Angeles, discovered a very nice picture, almost a shadow-box likeness, which I fell in love with. It would also fit in a suitcase. We brought it home and it’s been setting up on a mantel that I hung for it; awaiting the day of our Enthronement rite. Tonight was night which Father, along with his assistant and good friend of ours; celebrated the Sacred Mass in our home.
What an awesome experience!
To receive our Lord in our own home, and now having him King of our home is an honor.
Thank you Lord Jesus!
We welcome you and praise you as living proof of God’s immeasurable love. My heart burns for you as your heart burns for us.
We love and honor you Lord.

In these often troubled times, when so much is on our minds, we can take comfort of these words from Saint Paul to the Romans:
What we suffer in this life can never be compared to the glory, as yet unrevealed, which is waiting for us. The whole creation is eagerly waiting for God to reveal his sons. It was not for any fault on the part of creation that it was made unable to attain its purpose, it was made so by God; but creation still retains the hope of being freed, like us, from its slavery to decadence, to enjoy the same freedom and glory as the children of God.

This touched and moved me, I thought I might share the Good Deacon’s post from over there at the Deacons Bench:
Yesterday, I received an e-mail from the wife of a deacon, alerting me to a growing movement called Deacons in the Service of Life, an outgrowth of Priests for Life. A message by Deacon Neil Crispo on the website summons all deacons to service in defense of life — especially now:
Upon ordination the deacon is specifically constituted a sacred minister and member of the hierarchy of the church, configured to Christ the servant. As herald he is an official messenger who announces the “good news” of Jesus Christ through word, sacrament and charity.
